Fokker F.1. Roden kit 017. 1/72nd
I was pleased with this kit and the final appearance of the model. I will be adding more Dr.1s and other Toko/Roden models to my collection. Markings - Lt. Werner Voss of Jasta 11

Fokker E.IV Eindecker. Eduard ProfiPack kit 7025. 1/72nd
I can recommend this kit without reservation. It is as close to an “add glue and shake” kit as you can find for a WW I subject.

Albatros D.III. Roden Kit 022. 1/72nd
This kit is a recent release from Roden. It is noted that a number of extra parts are included in the kit. Roden use many of the same sprues to build other versions of the Oeffag D.II and D.III. The kit is cleanly molded and includes markings for five aircraft.

Me-163B Komet. Academy. 1/72nd
I was pleased with the final result. This model captures the look of the Komet and the dainty Scheuchschlepper allows a good presentation without detracting from the model. Recommended.

Focke Wulf Fw190D-9. Hasegawa (new tooling). 1/32nd
This kit builds up into an impressive replica of one of WW2’s most charismatic fighters. Sure, there are faults with the kit – none are beyond correcting either with aftermarket resin or by a bit of the old “modelling skills required”. After all, the perfect model doesn’t exist – it would be rather boring if it did.

Hasegawa’s 1/32 Focke-Wulf Fw190A-8
These kits are a huge improvement on the old rivet infested Fw190A kit of the 1970s and the ropey “high-tech” Fw190D-9 of the mid ‘eighties. A fun kit to build and one which will result in a good replica of Focke-Wulf designer Kurt Tank’s masterpiece – highly recommended.

Dornier Do 317V-1, Special Hobby. 1/72nd
Yet another multi-media kit from eastern Europe, this one is of a late development of the well-known Dornier 217 series, themselves derivatives of the earlier Dornier 17. The 317 was essentially similar to the later model 217-M, but was powered by the higher performance DB 604 engines and with a pressurised cockpit area. The twin fin/rudders were also changed, being triangular in shape. As was the case with so many RLM sponsored projects, it never came to full fruition. The first prototype, the Do 317V-1, first flew in 1943 but it was not the great success hoped for. The five further prototypes (V2 to V6) already on the production line were eventually completed without pressurisation, and designated Do 217R. They were used operationally by III/KG100 in late 1944 as missile carriers, each carrying a Henschel 293 missile below the fuselage.

Fokker TVIII, MPM. 1/72 scale
An excellent and accurate model of an interesting and relatively obscure subject. There is a lot of well-manufactured detail in this kit. Maybe a bit much for the novice or child, but no problems for modellers with just a little more experience and patience. It goes together well, looks really good when completed and as with most of the MPM range, represents good value for money.
