The P-51A was the 4th aircraft in the Mustang series after the Mustang Mk.1, A-36, and P-51/Mustang 1A. It is essentially the same aircraft as the British Mustang II, coming from the same factory order. This aircraft is located at the Yanks a Air Museum, Chino Airport, California.

Bruce Archer adds... These are very nice shots, but as a "restored " aircraft there are a couple of traps for the unwary.
The wheel wells on all P-51A aircraft were painted aluminum, with the rear of the well ( the main spar) in zinc chromate (yellow). Secondly all Allison Mustangs which were operational had the wheel doors in the up and locked posistion when not cycling the gear. These did not bleed down like the Merlin Mustangs. The same for the flaps.
The cockpit also looks like it was painted in the same tinted zinc chromate as the wheel wells, and should be Dark Dull Green.

Richard Faulkner adds... F-6B in the colors of the 107th TRS.

Richard Macer adds... Going by MY references on type- ie North American's erection and repair manual, an "A" model should have a lozenge shaped radiator- this appears to be round, as fitted to an A-36 or earlier Allison variant.
