Like the other CMR Spitfire kits, this one is a very straight-forward build, proving no harder than a comparable styrene kit in most respects. Fit is very good, and only a few tiny pin-holes needed attention on the wing’s leading edge. Some historical notes are provided, but obviously CMR can be no more precise than any other historian as to the exact shades of green or yellow the unpainted panels were, as the information does not exist. CMR has done a commendable job of research in terms of the differences between this first Spitfire and other Spitfires in their kit range, including the prototype K5054 in later form.
