RNZAF PV-1 Ventura model, by Tony O'Toole

Ventura decals on a PV-1 Ventura aircraft. Model by Tony O'Toole, who used our 1/72ns scale decals from sheet V7275. This sheet was revised and expanded in 2012. Tony's model is of Whenuapai-based Ventura NZ4624 ‘OP-F’ of No.11 SU.

This aircraft wears a locally-applied (NZ) Blue Sea Grey (similar to the US Navy Blue Gray) and (NZ) Sky Grey scheme, with Black code letters and Yellow ‘last two’ on the tail. Note that the use of orthochromatic film makes the outer ring of the fuselage roundel appear dark, with the blue areas artificially light.
