Two Welkin prototypes, plus 75 F Mk.I’s were produced - one of these was subsequently converted to the Welkin NF Mk.II 2-seat night-fighter version.

CMR’s Welkin NF Mk.II is a very straightforward kit. Despite the long wings, it is surprisingly easy to build. However, check the canopy fit in terms of fuselage width before closing the fuselage halves, as it’s easy to over-sand the fuselage mating surfaces making it a little too narrow for the canopy. The most challenging aspect is probably fitting the propeller blades to the spinners. It makes a nice addition to any night-fighter, prototypes or RAF collection.
